Email updates

When you subscribe, we process your email address to send occasional Unseen Sky updates about astronomical observations, livestreams, videos, music and related projects. We rely on your consent. We use confirmation emails to verify ownership of the address. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the unsubscribe link included in emails.

How information is stored

Subscriber records are stored in a database on our hosting provider. We keep the email address, subscription status and relevant consent and confirmation timestamps. To reduce abuse, we temporarily retain pseudonymized request identifiers, which are automatically deleted after up to 2 days.

Retention and removal

Pending subscriptions are not sent newsletters. Unsubscribed email addresses remain stored to preserve the opt-out record and prevent accidental future mailings; you can request full erasure by contacting us. We will review and delete inactive or unnecessary records periodically.

Recipients

Our web hosting and email delivery providers process data to provide these services. We do not sell subscriber lists or share them with advertisers. Hosting and email processing may involve transfers subject to the providers’ applicable data protection safeguards.
